Stainless Cable & Railing Return Policy

At SC&R we want you to be completely satisfied with your Stainless Cable and Railing purchase. Review the sections below for eligibility, authorization, and refund details.

Satisfaction Guarantee

If you ordered more material than needed or the product does not meet your expectations, most non-sale, non-custom items in new and resellable condition may be returned for a full refund within one year of the original purchase date.

Custom fabricated products, cut-to-length products, and products made or modified specifically for your order cannot be returned. This includes items that are cut, fabricated, drilled, altered, finished, assembled, or otherwise customized to meet project-specific requirements.

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, and restocking fees may apply to certain returns. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns after one year from the purchase date.

Our goal is to help make your railing project successful from start to finish. If you need assistance selecting replacement products or finding the right railing solution for your project, please contact our sales team.

Return Authorization Required

Before returning any product, you must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number by submitting a return request to your sales representative or calling 888-686-7245.

Once your return is approved, you will receive instructions and an RMA number. Please do not ship products back without prior authorization.

Unauthorized returns or items that do not qualify for return may not be refunded or returned to the customer.

Non-Returnable Items

We do not accept returns for:

  • Custom fabricated products, including products made, cut, drilled, altered, assembled, finished or modified specifically for your order.
  • Products that have been cut to length.
  • Products received more than one year after purchase.
  • Products that are not in original, unused, or resellable condition.
  • Products that have been cut, installed, modified, damaged, or altered in any way.
  • Clearance, closeout, special-order, or non-returnable items.
  • Incomplete kits or package systems unless all components are returned together.
  • Additional products not listed on the approved return authorization.

Products Must Be In Resellable Condition

All returned items must be unused, complete, and in resellable condition. Products must be returned in their original packaging with all included hardware, fittings, fasteners, instructions, and accessories.

Partial returns from packaged systems or kits may not be accepted.

Refund Information

Refund Amounts: Refunds and exchange credits are based on the original purchase price of the merchandise at the time of purchase. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Restocking fees may apply to items returned without original packaging, missing components, or showing signs of handling or damage.

Return Shipping Costs: Customers are responsible for all return shipping expenses unless the return is due to a shipping error or defective product.

Damaged, Incorrect, or Defective Products

Damaged Products: Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery. If any products are damaged during shipping, take clear photos of the packaging and damaged items and contact us as soon as possible.

We will work with the shipping carrier to file a freight claim and resolve the issue promptly. Claims for shipping damage are time-sensitive, so timely reporting is important.

Shipping Errors: If you receive incorrect items or your order is missing products, please contact us immediately with:

  • Your order number
  • Product part number(s)
  • Description of the issue
  • Quantity affected
  • Photos, if applicable

Our team will work quickly to correct the issue.

Defective Products: If you believe a product is defective within 90 days of purchase, please contact us promptly with:

  • Your order number
  • Product part number
  • Description of the issue
  • Photos of the defect

After 90 days from the purchase date, warranty claims must typically be handled directly with the manufacturer in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty policy.

Additional Notes

SC&R systems require proper installation and routine maintenance to ensure long-term performance, especially in coastal or high-moisture environments. Improper installation, misuse, lack of maintenance, or exposure to corrosive chemicals may void product warranties.
